Hello ReassureMe.com.

I recently installed your Parental Supervision and Internet Security product on 2 computers at home.

I simply want to thank you.  When our eldest Daughter was 8, she accidentally opened a web site which was wholly inappropriate for adults, let alone children.  Even though the computer was in the kitchen and my wife was with her, it still happened.

As a result, we thought it best to completely restrict both children from the PC, unless we were sitting with them.  As we both work, and have all the usual chores and meal preparation to contend with when we get home or even on the weekend, in practice, we could never live up to our end of the bargain and the children effectively never got to use the computer.

We obviously were not prepared to simply trust your parental supervision system and give the children unmonitored use of the computer.  However, one weekend was sufficient and now we are comfortable with the concept.

Neither my wife nor I would be regular computer users.  We mainly use the web and email.  In a matter of days, both of our children are now showing us new things.  My son (the youngest) is 6.  Quite literally overnight he has grasped spelling as he started to search for games online.  Our Daughter is now 10 and has discovered Wikipedia.  She is now an authority on everything.

Initially there was a downside, which in reality has been very beneficial for me.  We followed the instructions to prevent the children from installing anything on the computers.  When they discovered a few web sites with games, they would not work unless an administrator would allow the software to install on the computer.  My wife volunteered me to be the Administrator, so I had to be called in to approve any installations.  For the first few days my services were demanded quite a few times, but it was a blessing in disguise.  One of the “games” was blocked by the security system and turned out to be spyware (my Daughter googled it), and I have found myself actually playing the games with the children after teatime.

Full marks Reassureme.com.  Both the family computer AND the laptop are being used very regularly and it has opened up a whole new activity for us.

A note of appreciation for a job well done.

We bought a computer for the house a couple of years ago.  Following some incidents on the internet we banned the children from using the computer unless one of us was with them.  After a few weeks of 10 minutes here and 15 minutes there, everyone lost interest and the computer has been mostly gathering dust.  It might get turned on to look for tickets or search for presents.

Our next door neighbour mentioned ReassureMe.com.  We found your web site and tried the free trial.  It worked and “did what it said on the tin”.  I tried to search for porn and other websites which I would not like my children to see, and have been blocked every time so far.  I was really impressed when the system even prevented me using “inappropriate” words in Google or Yahoo search.  That seems to cure the problem of typo errors resulting in offering inappropriate website.

The computer is now a busy part of daily life, and infinitely more beneficial than my Son’s head being buried in his DS all the time.

Our appreciation for a good job.

Hello ReassureMe.com.

I am more than happy to provide a user reference.

We were introduced to your Parental Control system by one of the other parents in our Son’s school.  We had a computer which we bought for the children to use, but after a few not so appropriate events, we wouldn’t let the kids use it unless we were present, which seemed to be less and less until the stage when they stopped asking us.

We installed your free trial and monitored everything for a week or so.  During the 2nd week, we gradually let (Name removed for Privacy Reasons) use the computer more and more and I would check what he had been up to from my computer in work.  There were a few web sites blocked from him, and I checked the sites that he had gone to, and all was OK.

He now has an email account and sends emails to his class mates and his cousins.  He set up a Bebo account the other day too.  I know this can be a problem, but he knows that we can monitor what he does on the computer, and if we don’t like some of the Bebo content that he looks at, we will simply block it from his privileges.  Excellent!!!!

By the way.  When I installed the Anti Virus, it found 82 threats that had got onto the computer.  I think we may have forgotten to renew our original antivirus that came with the computer.

Hello ReassureMe.com.

I have absolutely no problem giving you a reference.  Your Parental Control system has had an enormous impact in our home.

We eventually gave in to the constant nagging by our eldest Daughter (14) and got her a computer and broadband like her friends had.  After a few months she was complaining that the computer was broken so I brought it to a local PC Repair shop.

They got it going again but told me that it was riddled with viruses which they had cleaned out.  I asked if they knew how the viruses had got onto the computer and was horrified by the result.  The engineer was able to look into some system files and get some information off it.  The computer had been on some web sites which the engineer thought were probably something called “social engineering sites” where criminals make a web site about something cool and topical which teenagers would be interested in.  Then they fool the children into downloading something which in reality is a virus which lets the criminals use our computer to attack other computers.  It also caused the computer to automatically bring up pornographic pop-up screens that couldn’t be stopped.

We were telling the story to a few friends and one of them mentioned ReassureMe.com, so I tried it.  I didn’t need the AntiVirus as the Engineer had already sold me some (which I think is the same as the system in Reassureme.com), but wanted the Parental Control system.

Now, my Daughter is a bit of a rebel, and wouldn’t be the kind of girl to discuss stuff with her parents.  We told her that we were putting on this supervision security system for her own benefit.  At the start she was dead set against it, but it hasn’t cramped her style too much.  What we have found however is that she actually makes a bit of conversation about her use of the computer now.  I’m a farmer, and would use the computer for doing bit of accounts and internet mainly, but now my Daughter is showing me how I could use it more.

She could still run rings around me on the computer, but with the ReassureMe.com being so easy to use, she knows she can’t pull the wool over my eyes.

Hello reassureme.com.

Not only do you deserve a good reference, but I have already told a load of people about your system.

I’m a sales person in the computer industry, but I’m not a Techie.

We had a problem at home with 2 of the children.  Our Daughter saw some pornography on the computer when our eldest boy was using it and started asking strange questions about sex.  Your ReassureMe.com web filtering has sorted that out.

Then our youngest boy who is 8 uses the computer quite often to play games.  Come bed time, there was always an argument and raised voices when he was told to turn off the computer and get ready for bed.  Your time controls have sorted that out.  I have set up the system to kill his access to the internet at 7pm, and then automatically log him off the computer at 7.30pm on school nights and 8pm on Friday and Saturday.  There are no arguments any more.  The system just does it’s thing and that’s all there is to it.  After a week or so, he started watching the clock and got used to the new regime.

We then had the problem of both boys wanting to use the computer at the same time.  Again we were able to use the ReassureMe.com system to resolve the problem.  I set up the time controls to give them a share of the computer.  Then the concept expanded into a great idea…. If anyone was bold during the week, they would lose computer time! If anyone was particularly good or helpful around the house, they got a bigger share of the computer time.

Now we have helpful little angels that have learnt how to SELL their extra time to the other brother, and it only takes me about 5 minutes per week to allocate the time and keep the peace.  It’s probably time to add a second computer!!!

Good Job ReassureMe.com !!!
